Among many others, representative matters include service as Town Attorney for Callahan and Baldwin, Florida, acting as co-counsel in successful class action lawsuit against international engine manufacturer, authoring appellate brief for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. resulting in Georgia Court of Appeals upholding the learned intermediary doctrine, defending Eli Lilly & Co., General Motors, Medtronic, Novartis, The Trane Co., Benjamin Sheridan Corp., 3M, Suzuki, and other major manufacturers in products liability matters, service as a member of litigation team defending the Coca-Cola Co. in anti-trust lawsuit filed by Pepsico, prosecution of Bert Harris claim against the City of Jacksonville for local developer alleging damages in excess of $2,000,000, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, securing an opinion affirming a summary judgment obtained for Aetna U.S. Healthcare against doctors suing for defamation, representing local municipality in administrative proceedings against the state of Florida, resolving them at six figure savings to the town, negotiation of union contracts for local municipality and representation Costa Rican fishing lodge in litigation arising from fleet-wide engine failure.

Partner, Bill Deem, Attorney & Counselor ~ Representative Matters:

Primarily engaged in corporate, banking, real estate and other business-related litigation and arbitration.

Representative matters include securities fraud, civil theft, director and officer liability, lender liability, regulatory liability, breach of fiduciary duty, disputes involving complex contractual or statutory relationships. Representation of start-up companies, entrepreneurs and individuals, representing banks ranging from large, money-center banks to local credit unions, representing of lenders in commercial workouts and foreclosures, the representation of various parties in disputes between developers and purchasers or community/condominium associations, representation of purchasers or sellers in bulk land sales disputes, prosecuted and defended derivative litigation, experience dealing with intra-business disputes, particularly those involving smaller ownership groups such as closely-held corporations, family corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and joint ventures, litigated cases relating to deceptive trade practices, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition and breach of non-compete obligations as well as patent and copyright infringement, experience in proceedings involving preliminary injunctive relief or the pendent lite appointment of a corporate custodian.

Legal Secretary/Paralegal, Denise Woodard

Denise is Deem Branham’s paralegal/legal secretary. She is a Jacksonville, Florida native working in the legal field for over 20 years.

Her expert legal experience comes from working with large firms in the Jacksonville area that include Mahoney, Adams & Criser as well as McGuireWoods LLP.

For the past 3 years, Denise has worked for William Deem and eventually the Deem Branham partnership.
